Cricket

On Thursday 11 of March the year 7 cricket team went to Parker Reserve and played AIA Melbourne and AIA Caroline Springs. We had lots of fun and played some good games. Special mentions to Quincey for amazing bowling for the B team and to Nicanor for great keeping for the A team.

At the end of the day the ladder was:

Coburg A

Coburg B

AIA Caroline Springs

AIA Melbourne

The final match of the day was between Coburg A and AIA Melbourne with Coburg A finishing undefeated. Thanks to the years 10s Taras, Hady and Laurie that came along on the day to score and umpire. Thanks to Tom for great coaching and good job to all the players.

What a day!! On the 24th of March 11 swimmers including myself, Dylan K, headed to the Northern Metropolitan Region Swimming Championships at WaterMarc. I would like to thank Paul for giving me the privilege of being the CHS Swim Team Captain and accompanying all of us for the day. As I am in Year 12, this is my final year competing for the school, so I wanted to make the most of the experience.

It was a packed meet with 30 schools competing and CHS ended up finishing in 12th place overall which is a great effort from all swimmers. I would like to congratulate everyone on their amazing performances and their attitude towards each other. The team spirit was high and everyone was happy to be part of the CHS Swim Team.

Across the whole day of racing, we had many great achievements with lots of top three finishes in both individual events and relays. We also had lots of swimmers break personal best times. We had both of our relays teams placing in 2nd place, with the 12-13 Womens 4x50m Freestyle relay (Miranda G, Frankie T, Olivia A, Leila F) and the 17 Mens 4x50m Freestyle relay (Xavier F, Owen C, Jake K, Riley K). Well done to both teams. Well done to Xavier F who placed 3rd in the 17 Mens 50m Butterfly.

On a personal note, I placed 1st in the 18-20 Mens 50m Backstroke, 2nd for the 18-20 Mens 50m Breaststroke and 3rd for the Mens 16-20 200m Freestyle. As I had a 1st place win, I am the first CHS swimmer to go through to the Victorian School State Championships in the last 15 years.

I also have to mention that this year was extra special because I was able to experience it with both my two younger brothers together, Jake K in Year 10 and Riley K in Year 7.
