We’re back to on-site learning!

On Tuesday the State Government announced that we’re back to on-site learning!

Key dates:

Remote learning will continue for Year P – 2 students up to and including 22nd May.
There is a State-wide Curriculum Day on 25th May. Students requiring care and supervision are able to seek care via our Out of School Hours Care program.
Year P-2 students are scheduled to resume on-site learning on 26th May.
Remote learning will continue for Year 3 - 6 students up to and including 5th June.
Year 3-6 students are scheduled to resume on-site learning on 9th June.
During the period prior to the above dates, on site remote learning is available to students who cannot be cared for at home. If you require this support please email culshaw.jennifer.s@edumail.vic.gov.au your attendance form the week prior.

On-site entry and exit protocols

To safely control the flow of children into the school grounds and to prevent any potential COVID-19 outbreak in our adult population, our school is developing a set of protocols for the community. At this stage our protocols for the period of time from 26th May to 5th June include:

‘Easy In’ – students who can enter the school without adult support are requested to do so between 8:30am - 8:55am. These students will enter a common gate. This includes those who are dropped off at the ‘kiss n go’ school driveway and those who walk to school with friends or siblings.
‘Easy out’ – students who can exit the school without adult support will be dismissed from a common gate at 3:30pm. These students will then follow their family’s exit arrangements. This may include heading to a meeting point along the Campaspe Drive boundary. FYI – Our Campaspe Drive boundary fence will have coloured markers to assist families identify an agreed meeting point.
‘Staggered In’ – Students who require adult support to enter the school will enter a nominated gate at a nominated time according to their family surname. This window will begin at 8:55am. It is our desire that all children will be in their classroom by 9:30am.
‘Staggered Out’ – Students who require adult support to exit the school will exit via a nominated gate at a nominated time according to their family surname. This window will begin at 2:55pm. It is our desire that these children will be out of the school by 3:25pm.
Non-essential adults will not be allowed beyond the internal gates or school foyer without Principal permission or under the supervision of the Administration team.

NB: Nominated gates and times will be provided in future correspondence.

An essential element of this process will be that parents do not unnecessarily enter the school grounds or congregate at exit points.

Some considerations for our parents/carers:

If you don’t need to support your child into the school, please resist the urge.
If you can stay in your car, do so.
If you need to drop your child off at the gate, as best as you both can, kiss and go.
If you must enter the boundary fence to head to a nominated gate, do so at the nominated time and not before.

As always, we prioritise individual health and well-being above all else. If you require additional support, please contact your classroom teacher to get a re-entry action plan started. Further, I encourage all families to read the Health and Wellbeing page of this newsletter for some great hints, tips and guidance to support your child’s re-entry to on-site schooling.

Specialist Subject Learning Day – Thursday May 21st

Next Thursday we are having a day dedicated to our specialist subjects of Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Physical Education, Science and Indonesian. The day will involve a mixture of modelled lessons via videos of practice and live Google Meets. For a schedule of your child(ren)’s learning head to Remote Learning website on Tuesday.

Project Based Learning Day – Friday May 22nd

Our next PBL day is scheduled for Friday May 22nd. Head to your child’s Learning Level page of our Remote Learning website on Wednesday for your first sneak peaks of the day’s activities.

Facilities Update

Next week the school will be having some fencing and gates installed near our northern classrooms and the northern staff carpark. This is timely as it will support the containment of our student population to our internal boundaries.

2021 Enrolments

Thank you to those who have submitted enrolment forms and those who have supported our enrolment process by promoting the importance of submitting enrolment forms in a timely manner to the broader community.

Families with siblings, those that live in our designated neighbourhood zone and other interested parties are asked to complete an enrolment form and email it to our Enrolments Officer Robyn Miller miller.robyn.e@edumail.vic.gov.au as soon as practical.

School Council
