Applied RE

Applied RE Venturers Community Service

Applied RE students Bianca Condello, Deng Shan, Crystal Molina and Alanah Meocevic  were fortunate this month to help host Agoonaree 2018 at Treetops Riddells Creek.  This is an important camp in the Scouting Calendar and impacts people for a lifetime in the best way imaginable.  It is a camp run for the service of those in our community who are affected with physical and or mental disabilities, and is designed to give the attendees opportunities for adventure and outdoor experiences which are normally out of reach. The types of adventurous activities offered included rafting with pirates, sword fighting, applying tattoos, bounce castles, choir singing, circus entertainment and games. The benefits become clear very quickly and this is at the core of the camp. We are seeing new friendships, understanding, compassion, caring and nurturing with a massive dose of fun from all.   It is an inspirational camp to watch and be a part of; seeing our Applied RE  Venturers help and guide their fellow Scouts over three days.   They were gracious, willing and embracing of those less fortunate than themselves.   Their engagement at a deep and genuine level of care with a healthy dose of fun was inspiring and commendable.
