Parents as Partners to tackle Cyber Safety at home
This Newsletter we will explore safety when gaming.
The gaming world is a multi-billion dollar industry. There are so many different ways that children access games. This includes phones, iPads, tablets, XBox, Playstation, Nintendo, Computers and MORE!
Today's gaming involves a lot of online interaction and "Party Chats". This is when your child is in a group with others and can talk to them online.
One reality of gaming is that it is a public space. Have a chat with your child about the idea of 'Stranger Danger' and how this applies to gaming as well as in the real world. Remind them to never add someone to their group or friends list unless they know them.
We have included an attachment below that helps to explain a lot of the gaming world, as well as some tips for keeping your child safe while gaming.
