A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

Catholic Schools Week

Yesterday I had the pleasure of accompanying Mrs Rheinberger and student reps: Chase Slade, Monique Hutton, Lincoln Darnell & Hayley Rheinberger to Armidale to attend the Diocesan Mass for the Bicentenary of Catholic Education in Australia. Thank you to these students for being fine ambassadors for our school. The theme of the bicentenary was summed up beautifully in the closing hymn:

We will live, love, reach out to the world

Bringing joy, hope and peace in God’s Name

As your people, we have faith,

Faith in the future.

I look forward to seeing many parents and friends at our special liturgy, open classrooms and picnic lunch this Thursday 27th May, from 11.30am and also for our Friday Mass at 9.30am.

Thanks to Mrs Hofman for updating the shop front window in the main street of Quirindi; highlighting the importance of our Catholic community working together.

Times Tables and Number Facts Challenge

This morning we held our first Times Tables and Number Facts Challenge for our Primary students. I congratulate the students, who over recent weeks have put in extra effort to learn their tables and improve their knowledge of number facts. The winners for Year 3/4 were Olive Dillon and Charlie Marheine and the consistent effort award went to Troy Balint. In year 5/6 the winner was Hayley Rheinberger and the consistent effort went to Nate Aspinall. Congratulations!

Sporting news

Thanks to Miss Sallie Pilgrim for supervising Abbie Coghill and Bella Brown at the Quirindi Horse Sports event last Friday. There were 180 competitors and our girls enjoyed the competition. They went particularly well in the ‘sporting section’ of the event and brought home some ribbons. Well done Abbie & Bella.

Congratulations to Will Bartholomew for his selection in the Diocesan Rugby team to compete in the NSW Catholic Primary Schools selection trials in Forbes on 21st June.

Have a wonderful week

Pauline Long
