Rogaine 2019

On Sunday, the 5th of May, the cadets participated in the Victorian Rogaining Association Cadet Challenge (which is similar to orienteering) at Daylesford. After finalising our planned route, we split off into our predetermined teams and had 5 hours to find as many checkpoints as possible. We implemented our map reading skills using a compass to navigate through the cross-country bush. Whilst some teams, ran in order to achieve lots of checkpoints, others just had a fun, relaxing time, soaking in the fresh country air. In the end, we all gathered around to enjoy some hot, delicious cheese toasties and scrumptious soup, while waiting for the results to be announced. Congratulations to our top 2 teams (1st: Josie Watkins, Jean Palamara, Campbell Perkins and 2nd: Maribel Cousins, Liberty Pilkington, Rachel Chiu, Izzy Court) for winning the Golden Boot Trophy out of all the squadrons. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed navigating around the bush and developing teamwork skills with other year levels.
