MGC Enviroment Team

Inspirational Guest speaker Alice Mahar addresses MGC enviro tea

On Wednesday 15th of May the MGC Environment team welcomed MGC alumni Alice Maher, the director of With One Bean Coffee, CEO of the Pickle Bank, social and environmental justice activist / entrepreneur. Alice spoke to the team about the social justice environmental projects she and her family has developed with Timor-Leste (East Timor).

It was a very timely reminder of our impact on the planet and the positive choices we can make as consumers. Alice’s talk shone light on the work that goes into working in developing countries, running a carbon neutral business across borders and political issues. From global perspectives to how to minimize carbon emissions transporting produce around the globe, to local aspects of her work including reducing non-biodegradable plastic in the supply chain in both Australia and Timor-Leste, Alice covered a lot of ground in a lunchtime!

Thanks you so much for inspiring us Alice, your work is making an incredible difference in the world.
