Year 8 Girls Basketball

The Year 8 girls basketball team narrowly missed out playing in the final of the B-section interschool basketball competition at Wantirna Stadium on Wednesday 7th August. After defeating Lilydale High 22 – 18 in the first match, our girls drew with Monbulk in the second match 22 – 22. Trailing by 4 points with less than a minute to go, Misty Skeene and then Monique Willemsen both held their nerve to make successful baskets to tie the scores. The stand-out players for the day were Makenzee Harbinson and Misty Skeene.

Year 8 Boys Basketball

The Year 8 boys basketball team had a tough day in the B-section interschool basketball competition on Wednesday 7th August. Mt. Evelyn was a tough game to start off the day going down 22-7. The game against Lilydale Heights was a really good game but unfortunately we went down 16-14. Lilydale was the last game for the boys which was really tough having to play straight after the last game, but the boys kept fighting and went down 9-22. Well done to all the boys, you all did a really good job! Corey Agnew and Reece Smith were standouts throughout all the games!
