Swim Program

The year 5/6’s are currently participating in the school swimming program at the aquatic swimming complex at Huntingtower School.  The annual swimming program is an integral part of the Syndal South Physical Education curriculum. Huntingtower’s qualified coaching staff have provided individualised programs to ensure that all students are challenged to ensure continual improvement and confidence in the water. The swimming program focuses on effective stroke technique, breath control, powerful kicking as well as have a focus on water safety, rescue and survival skills.

By the end of primary school, it is anticipated that all students be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills identified in the Victorian Water Safety Certificate. Year 6 students who are able to swim 50m continuously, answer water safety based questions and perform simple rescues, will receive the Certificate.

Footy Tipping

Another home & away footy season is done and dusted. Congratulations to our place getters, Sandy Pie, Goddo & Archfactor who all receive a piece of the pie, while Mattistuta holds on to last place to get his money back. SSPS has also benefited with $130 going into our fund raising bucket. It's been a bit of fun & can't wait to do it all again in 2020.
