SUSTAINABLE HOUSES

Our Year 5 students have been investigating competing considerations in the design solutions of houses, taking into account sustainability.

They are including a variety of sustainability considerations and using these to evaluate their ideas and artefacts.

The students are certainly considering the responsibility we have in sharing global resources.

Have a conversation with your child. What does your family do to ensure a sustainable future for humanity?

PLASTIC BOTTLE COLLECTION

The Environment Leaders have been working in the garden to make our school more sustainable.  As winter is coming up, we need a way to keep our seedlings warm so they have a chance to grow. Our old greenhouse is in need of repairs and we have come up with a sustainable way to fix it.  We are collecting empty 1.25L and 2L  soft drink bottles to be recycled and used as the walls and roof of our greenhouse.

If you have any empty bottles to contribute, there will be a collection box at the office in the last week of Term 1 (4th – 8th April).
