BURRILL, Susan Elizabeth (Sue)

12.11.1959 – 20.3.2023

Passed away peacefully at Royal Hobart Hospital. Loved and loving daughter of Geoff and Judy (both dec). Dearly beloved sister and sister-in-law of Tony (SVC 1975-80) and Liz, Helen, Jill and David.

 

GEARD, Paul Adrian

1.05.1944 – 24.03.2023

Passed away peacefully. Dearly loved and loving husband of Elizabeth for 55 wonderful years. Adored dad and father-in-law of Donna & Chris, Maree & Andrew, Alison & Tony, Pauline & Wayne and Ben (SVC 1991-95) and Nat.

 

GEEVES, Bill   

28.10.1939 – 6.03.2023

Sadly passed away suddenly at the Calvary Hospital Lenah Valley. Loved and loving husband of Nacie. Loving father and father-in-law of Stuart (SVC 1984-88) and Deborah.

Adored and cherished Poppy Bill to Luke. Bill was an integral part of the St Virgil’s College football programme whilst his son Stuart was at the College.

 

HISCUTT, Terence Quaid (SVC 1942-46)

3.09.1929 – 24.03.2023

Loving husband of Pat (dec.) and Jean. Loved father and father-in-law of Cathee and Tim Little, and Ben and Leonie. Pa of Thomas and Phoebe, Joseph (dec.), and Casey and Monique, and great grandfather of Marli, Joel, Flynn, and Harper. Loved step father of Dale and Nieta Clarke, Harvey and Sue (dec.) and Leanne Clarke, and step Pa of Matthew, Julia, Deanne, Rachael, and Rebecca, and great Pa of Kyle and Haley Aiken, and Lucy, Ruby, and Jack Langham. Loved son of the late James (SVC 1911-14) and Susan. Brother and brother in law of Hugh (SVC1943-46) and Joan (both dec.), Des (SVC 1948-49) and Margaret, and Mary and Terence (dec.) and Trevor (dec.). Treasured by all he knew.

 

HISCUTT, Hugh James AM (SVC1943-46)

10.7.1926 – 21.3.2023 

Late of “Raheny”. Died peacefully. Loved husband of Joan (dec.). Loving father and father-in-law of Maureen and Gary Parsons, Bernadette and Tom Burke (SVC Staff 1974-80), Peter (dec.), Angela and Graeme Carrington, Kevin, Martin and Stephanie, and Paul and Lisa. Treasured Grandpa Hugh of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

Son of the late James (SVC 1911-14) and Susan Hiscutt, of Kenneglen, Howth. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Terence and Pat (dec.) and Jean, Desmond (SVC 1948-49) and Margaret, Mary Owen and Terence (dec. SVC 1942-46) and Trevor (dec.).

 

In the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours, Hugh Hiscutt, 93, was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM)for significant service to the people and Parliament of Tasmania, and to the community of West Devon.

 

Hugh was the independent Member for the Division of Devon in the Tasmanian Legislative Council  between 1983 and 1995.  He was a Penguin Councillor between 1966 and 1987 and also served as the President of the Burnie Agricultural and Pastoral Show Society. He is also the current Patron of the Burnie Arts Council.

 

In 1995 younger brother, Des, replaced Hugh as the MLC for West Devon. He served in Parliament from 1995 to 1999.  Des was inducted onto the St Virgil’s College Heritage Roll of Honour in 2010.

 

OLD, David Robert  (SVC 1961-62)

27.06.1947 - 10.03.2023

Loved and loving husband of Fay. Cherished father and father-in-law of Katrina and Scott, Steve and Lisa, and Sarah. Adored Pop of Ellie, Nick, Kalia, Xavier, and Victoria. 

 

STRANGER,  (nee New) Zoe Eleanor

1934 - 2023. Wife of David (deceased), mother to Mark (SVC 1971-72)and Nicholas (SVC 1971-74) Stranger and Mary-Louise Clarke; Mother-in-law to Marsha Stranger, Jane Stranger and Adrian Clarke.

 

XIBERRAS, Joseph

Passed away on March 16 2023. Son of Louis and Paola Xiberras of Gozo, Malta. Loving husband of Doreen (dec). Father of Paula, Frances and Peter (SVC 1980-85).
