School and Kindergarten Parents and Friends Association Meeting

The next PFA meeting General Meeting will be held Tuesday 25th May 2021 in the staffroom at 9am.  We would like to invite all parents to come along, have a cuppa, meet some new friends and share your ideas.  Toddlers most welcome.

Road Safety around Miners Rest Primary School and Kindergarten

As a representative group of the MRPS K-6, we have been asked to express many families’ concerns of the driving and road safety awareness of parents/carers/guardians and students alike.

Did you know:

  • that the end of the cul-de-sac at the kinder is a NO STANDING zone, which means you cannot drop your children off here;
  • the one-way Dundas Street was made for the safety of all road users – please do not do a u-turn and drive the wrong way to park in front of the school;
  • there is a NO STANDING zone along the front of the school – please do not park and drop your children off, or call them to cross the road to jump in the car.

We as parents/carers/guardians, need to be modelling correct driver and pedestrian behaviours for the safety of all road users.  We feel there will be an accident in the very near future unless behaviours change immediately.

Mother’s Day Stall – Friday 7th May

The Mother’s Day Stall was held on Friday 7th May. Thank you Shelley Jolly, Maree Hines and Beck Manning for helping with the stall.

Second-hand Uniform Shop

The second-hand uniform shop will be opening this Friday 14th May, from 2.45pm at the Learning Pod.  All items are sold for a gold coin donation.  If you have any clean items you no longer need, please consider donating these to the second-hand uniform shop.  Thank you Marilyn Hoggan and Beck Manning for volunteering to help out at the shop.

Volunteers

Thank you to the many parent helpers who have returned the Parent Helper form.  Please read the newsletter to see if the PFA require your assistance.  Even if you can spare 30 minutes, it will greatly reduce the number of volunteer hours that go into organising each fundraiser.
