Parents on Campus Update

As you would be aware, there have been strict rules implemented with regards to schools in this COVID season.  One of these requirements has related to parents not being allowed on site during school hours.  This regulation provides a further measure of protection of our students and staff by minimising the opportunity for spread of the virus.

We want to thank our families for being so understanding of this situation during this time, and we've been glad to receive the latest government information about the easing of some of these restrictions. Adults are permitted into classrooms by appointment or on a roster. This allows our teachers to ensure that we don't have crowding in our classrooms. Please note that we're not able to open classrooms to general drop off and pick up times yet.

A further reminder, that it is necessary for any visitors to sign in via Administration, and if you are working in any forum other than directly with your child's class you are required to have a current Working with Children's Card.  These can be applied for at our local post office - so now could be a good time to get that in order before it's required.

Speed Reduction Request

You may have seen this notice on our Facebook page, but it's not just a matter for Grace Court.  Concerns have been raised for Waratah Court as well.  Can you please ensure that speed is kept to a minimum and that utmost care is taken in vehicles when in proximity to the College.  Thank you!

Kindy Screening Message from the Dunsborough School Nurses

As Community Health Nurses, keeping everyone safe is our priority during the Covid-19 Restriction time. The School Entry Health Assessments for kindy students will be conducted in a slightly different format this term. To allow us to make contact with every student, we will break the screening into two visits. At the first visit, we will check hearing, growth and teeth health. The vision will be checked later in the year. We will be sending the Health result form home on both occasions.

We have started to book in the screening dates for all the schools, so please complete and return your child’s Health Assessment form if you have not already done so.

Kind Regards,

The Naturaliste School Health Team (Dunsborough)

Crazy Hair Day

This event is for BOTH campuses, on the same day.  It really is a whole of school event.

You are a Star - UPDATE!

The 'You are a Star' concert has been cancelled for this term due to restrictions on large groups, like an audience.  However, Mrs De Villiers has worked out we can still celebrate the musical prowess of our students - in a COVID friendly format.  She will be filming the students performing in class for a special video edition of the 'You are a Star' program this year.  Keep an eye out for that.

Hygiene Station

There's a new addition on the Busselton campus this week - an extra hygiene station has been installed in the Primary area.  It's in the interests of keeping our students healthy.

Defibrillator

We have been the recipient of defibrillators at both of our campuses. This is through a program run by St John and is designed to provide emergency equipment for the public. The machines have been installed near the entrance to the gym at Busselton and on the wall of the classroom facing the gym at Dunsborough.

The machines have prompted a lot of discussions with the students about first aid and responding to emergencies and we are grateful for the provision of these important devices in our College.
