As we continue to work with students on what it means ‘"to have a better day because they are part of the Holy Trinity team," we explore how their presence, actions, and contributions at HTS make a positive difference in the lives of others. Their role directly contributes to the relationships they have with other students, adults in the school and the wider school community.
Our students have had many opportunities in recent weeks to showcase their various skills. Our P and F supported art show was a true testament to all students K-10 and the creative direction of teachers to produce lots of lovely and skillfully designed pieces of art. It was wonderful to also see many grandparents and families at 5B’s Mass that morning and braving the weather to visit classrooms and the art show in the afternoon.
Selected Primary students from year 4, year 5 and year 6 combined to make teams for the Brain Olympia heat hosted at Holy Trinity yesterday. A challenging competition of General Knowledge, Public Speaking, Drama and Maths Problem Solving. Our Year 6 debaters have been testing out their persuasive skills in online debating sessions against other diocesan schools with great success.
Today, many students are representing at the Diocesan Athletics Carnival in Tamworth and next Monday students are playing in the Todd Woodbridge Cup (tennis tournament) at our local courts. Next week is book week and despite it not being a year for a dress up parade, there will still be a few fun activities to help celebrate this year’s theme "Book an Adventure!" We thank our staff who have given their time to enable students these opportunities.
Family Conferences
Family Conferences were a great opportunity for families to speak with the classroom teacher about their son or daughters progress both academically and socially, and goals to help them progress this semester. Teachers value these conversations particularly as elaboration on Semester 1 reports.
Ctrl+Sft
Formerly Safe on Social, has been well received by our students this week. I hope if you were able to be at the parent session you found it informative, and it provided you with knowledge to help your children around safety when online.
ICAS Assessments
Students who are signed up for ICAS assessments will begin this week with English. Science is scheduled for Monday August 18 and Maths, Monday August 25. Students away on the scheduled test day will have an opportunity to sit the test within that week.
Save the Date
Our annual K-2 Athletics Carnival will be August 29 on the back oval. There has been much training happening for the running races and it’s sure to be a great time for all!
