Reminder: Years 11 and 12 TCE Exams

Years 11 and 12 TCE exams begin Week 3, starting Monday 10 August. Students should have started preparing for these exams and if they have any questions about particular papers they are encouraged to reach out to their teachers.

An email was sent to all students and families last term with full details regarding the August exams. A few important reminders for exam days:

Students must arrive at school at least 15 minutes before their exam start time.
Students meet on the North Block Patio, with all exam materials ready to go.
Please ensure students bring all required equipment (pens, calculators) as outlined in the exam information document.

Years 9 and 10 Subject Changes Semester 2

There will be no changes to subjects for students in Years 9 and 10 after the end of Week 4, Term 3 (21 August). We encourage students to think carefully about any change and be aware that some courses are already full.

Years 9 and 10 2027 Subject Selection Evening

A reminder that students in Years 8 and 9 will soon be making their subject choices for 2027. As part of this process, there will be a Subject Selection evening held in The Farrall Centre from 7.00pm on Wednesday 5 August. This will provide an overview of core subjects and the Year 9 Program and will provide an opportunity for current Year 9 students to speak with subject teachers about electives.

On the 6 of August, students and parents will be emailed details on how to choose their subjects via Web Preferences, and will also receive a link to the Years 9 and 10 Coursebook. Subject choices will be due on Monday 17 August. Contact Kate Baldry for further information.

Welcome to our Kochi Students!

This week, we are delighted to welcome 11 students and one teacher, Raiki Ueta, from our sister school, Kochi Kokusai High School in Japan. We hope you will join us in making our visitors feel very welcome and helping them enjoy their time at The Friends’ School!

House News Term 3

The race for the Aggregate Shield is heating up!

Mather have reclaimed top spot back from Unwin after their House Chess victory last Term, sitting on 6,970 points, just ahead of Unwin on 6,878. Hodgkin has closed the gap with outstanding performances, winning both the Year 9/10 and Year 11/12 House Netball competitions to move to 6,794 points. Ransome remains well within striking distance on 6,223 points and will be looking to make their move this term.

It has been fantastic to see the enthusiasm, participation and House spirit across the Senior Campus. The friendly competition continues to strengthen the connections within our school community, with students and staff embracing every opportunity to represent their House. With plenty of points still on offer this Term, the competition is wide open.

The Friends’ School Welcomes University of West Texas Musicians - 30 July

We are thrilled to be hosting the music faculty and students of the University of West Texas here at The Friends' School this week as part of a music residency. We invite friends and family of the Friends’ School community to join us for a free concert this Thursday 30 July from 6 pm in the Farrall Centre, where our Development and Intermediate Bands, and Senior Wind Ensemble will share the stage in a 90 minute concert with our visiting artists.
