COMMUNITY Events

As always, our students have participated in a wide range of sporting and extra-curricular activities and have done our school proud!

Our aerobics teams participated in their first competition for 2026 on Saturday 9th May. The teams all did exceptionally well, proving that their commitment to their training is paying off! Thank you to our coaches and especially Miss Dodson and Mrs Searle for supporting the teams on the day.

Last Friday our Cross Country team participated in the District Cross Country. Our runners performed exceptionally well, with Syndal South coming 2nd place overall which is an incredible achievement! Thank you to Mrs Fisher and Mr Riley for supporting the team on the day and to Mr Riley for the training sessions he has been running before and after school.

Also taking place each week is preparation for the Solar Program. The students are learning all about the necessary components and the use of solar energy. Thank you to Mrs G-P for supporting these students in preparation for the challenge.

Thank You to Our Parents Association and Staff for a Wonderful Mother’s Day Celebration!

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our Staff and Parents and Association (PA) for their incredible efforts in making this year’s Mother’s Day celebrations truly special.

Thanks to the PA’s dedication and hard work, our students enjoyed a delightful Mother’s Day Stall filled with thoughtful gifts, allowing them to choose something unique for the special women in their lives. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as children selected their presents with care and excitement.

The celebrations continued with a beautiful Mother’s Day Breakfast, where families gathered in a warm and welcoming atmosphere to share in delicious food and community spirit.

We are grateful for the volunteers who gave up their time to organise and run these events so smoothly. Their commitment enriches our school and I know the students are grateful.

Uniform Policy and Earring Safety

Parents and students are reminded that the Syndal South Primary School uniform policy states that for safety reasons, only stud earrings and small sleepers may be worn at school. Dangling or large earrings can become caught during play, sport or everyday activities, which may lead to injury to the wearer or other students. We thank you for your support in keeping our students safe at school.

School Attendance - Every Day Counts

The importance of regular school attendance.

At Syndal South Primary School, we prioritise regular school attendance. We will work with families to ensure students are in class with their peers and teachers and enjoying all the benefits that brings.

Attending school every day means experiencing what counts – the learning, friendship, fun and opportunities that can shape your child’s future.

Last term/year, students at our school missed on average 16 days of school. This equates to almost 3 terms over the 7 years of primary schooling.

We understand that there are times when your child will need to miss school but to ensure minimal disruption to their education, please consider scheduling family holidays or medical/dental appointments outside of school time. If your child is well enough to attend but is worried about friendships, schoolwork or exams, please encourage them to come to school. Avoiding school can make these feelings worse and can create a negative pattern of behaviour.

If your child is having difficulty attending school, talk to their teacher or the school about getting support.

We know that parents and carers can be juggling challenges daily to get your children to school. If your child must miss school, notify us as soon as possible via Compass so we can work together to support them. For more information about the importance of everyday attendance, see Attendance and Missing School.

Remember, Every Day Counts.
