Deputy Principal

Dear Sacred Heart Community,
It has been a busy and engaging week across the school, with students continuing to demonstrate wonderful learning, enthusiasm, and school spirit in their classrooms and around the yard.
World Cup Day Lunch Order~ Friday 19 June
As part of our World Cup Day celebrations on Friday 19 June, students are invited to come dressed in their favourite soccer clothing, sports gear, or team colours.
A special lunch order will also be offered through our Parents & Friends. A brown paper bag order was sent home with students. Families are asked to complete the form, clearly indicating their child’s name and selecting either a hot dog or chicken nuggets with a drink for $5.
Completed orders, along with payment, should be returned to school by Wednesday 17 June. We look forward to a fun and festive day of community celebration.
Inquiry ~ Garden Club
From Foundation to Year 6, this term's Inquiry Unit has been incredibly worthwhile AND important learning for our students. At the beginning of the term the junior classes
(F - Year 2) learnt about the 6 R's when it comes to sustainability and our responsibility to the planet. RETHINK, REFUSE, REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE & ROT are great reminders for us as global citizens to live by. It was fantastic, therefore, to see the senior students re-purposing old denim jeans as part of their Inquiry project. Can't wait to see the finished products.
In the garden we have been enjoying watching the snow peas, carrots, radishes, beetroot, bokchoy and parsley grow. It is the intention of the Gardening Club, driven by its leader Chloe David, to establish a compost system at our school, inline with our Inquiry Unit on sustainability!
Have a great week everyone!
Regards,
Marty Fitzpatrick
