'A Welcoming Community Leading the Future of Learning with Faith and Love'
We are over halfway through Term 2 and the energy across our school community remains incredibly vibrant. As we head toward the winter break, our dedicated teachers are busy preparing student reports to share and celebrate the wonderful growth of every individual learner. These reports will be released during the final week of the term, offering a fantastic opportunity to look back on the hard work, progress and achievements your children have demonstrated. We are immensely proud of their dedication this term and look forward to partnering with you to celebrate their ongoing success.

Preparations are well underway for our spectacular Art Show on 22 October. This dynamic event will celebrate our students' incredible artistic talents and boundless creativity, with unique masterpieces inspired by our country's beautiful landscapes. Our young artists have poured their hearts into sharing their unique interpretations, which are guaranteed to inspire you. Mark your calendars for 22 October, bring your family and join us for an enriching celebration of creativity, imagination and community spirit.
We invite you to join us at the combined PA/SAC Parent Engagement Event.
This Wine and Cheese evening will be held tomorrow, Tuesday 2 June, at 7pm and will be hosted in our new Wellbeing Hub. We will share the great work happening in Wellbeing at St John's and our Vision for our new Student Engagement Space, including a presentation of the Master Plan and future building works.
Please save the date - 2 June at 7pm - and come along to this exciting event.

We are excited to announce our Term 2 Special Food Day! On this special day, students will have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious Subway lunch right here at school.
When: Friday, 12 June at 11:00 AM (Lunchtime)
How to Order: An order form was sent home with your child last week.
Please fill this in with your child’s lunch preferences and return it to the school (classroom teacher or Office) with the correct money enclosed in a sealed envelope.
Order Deadline: All forms and payments must be returned by Wednesday, 3 June.
As this is an externally managed program with Subway, we must submit our final numbers strictly on time. Unfortunately, late orders cannot be accepted.
To help us preserve a peaceful environment in the morning and ensure attendance is accurately recorded, any student arriving after the music has finished must be signed in at reception. Students who do not sign in will be marked absent for the day. Students are asked to wait quietly at reception until 9:00am before entering their classroom after prayer time. Thank you for your support in upholding these morning routines.
This is a gentle reminder not to send lollies to school for birthdays or on any other occasion. We are trying to promote healthy eating at school and many families do not wish for their child to be given lollies without their permission. We would appreciate if you could send in healthy alternatives or creative options on your child's birthday.

As we enter the Winter season, we kindly ask families to keep children home if they are unwell or showing any symptoms of illness. Resting at home ensures a quicker recovery for your child and protects our wider community of students and staff from becoming unwell. We appreciate your help to keep our school community safe and well.
Our teachers and staff are always working additional hours outside of school times. As part of their MACS Agreement teachers are able to take Time in Lieu for these additional hours, on 4 days throughout the year. The first of our 4 TIL Days will be next Tuesday, 9 June. Our three other TIL days are on 2 November, 17 and 18 December.
Camp Australia will be running a full day program so please book your child in if you require Care on this day. Register your child - https://pp.campaustralia.com.au/

We are asking for donations of non-persihable food and essential items to support families in need in our area. By donating food items to the St Vincent's Winter Appeal, we are teaching opur students about Social Justice through a significant act of kindness and something tangible for those in need. There are baskets in every classroom and also in the office. We appreciate your help in advance.
I have a spine, but no bones. I have leaves, but no branches. I can take you to different worlds, but I never move. What am I?
(Can you solve this riddle and find the answer)
May you and your family have a peaceful and productive week ahead. Please remember that my door is always open, so do not hesitate to reach out if I can assist you in any way. Thank you for your continued partnership and support in making our school community such a wonderful place for our students.
Warm regards,
Verona Gridley
St John's Primary School Principal
