Year 4 Camp ADANAC
A Wonderful Adventure!
What an incredible few days our Year 4 students had at Camp ADANAC! With stunning weather, wonderful activities and plenty of opportunities for adventure, it was a camp to remember.
One of the greatest highlights was seeing the students demonstrate such independence, resilience and kindness throughout the experience.
Many students challenged themselves to step outside their comfort zones, trying new activities and discovering just how much they were capable of achieving. Whether they were feeling nervous about an unfamiliar challenge or celebrating a personal achievement, the students showed fantastic determination and a willingness to give things a go. Just as importantly, they supported and encouraged one another when things felt a little daunting, demonstrating the wonderful friendships and sense of community within our Year 4 cohort.
There was certainly no shortage of excitement, with a fantastic range of activities to enjoy! From soaring through the air on the flying fox and testing their skills at laser tag to tackling the low ropes, trying disc golf, canoeing and conquering the tread wall, the students embraced every opportunity for adventure. Nine square was also a popular choice, providing plenty of fun and friendly competition. With the beautiful weather on our side, the final day was the perfect way to finish camp, with the waterslide and water park proving to be absolute highlights!
Beyond the activities, the students made us incredibly proud in the everyday moments, too. They displayed beautiful manners in the dining room and thoroughly enjoyed sharing meals and conversations with their friends. Mealtimes were a lovely opportunity to relax, connect and reflect on the day's adventures. The students also did a lovely job of settling into their cabins and embracing the experience of living away from home with their friends. There was plenty of excitement at bedtime as everyone chatted about the day's adventures, and while the teachers might have appreciated just a little more sleep, it was wonderful to see the students enjoying this special part of the camp experience!
Camp is about so much more than trying new activities; it is an opportunity for students to grow in confidence, develop their independence, strengthen friendships and learn the value of perseverance. Our Year 4 students embraced these opportunities wholeheartedly, and we are incredibly proud of the way they conducted themselves throughout the camp.
A very big thank you to Ms Maxwell, Ms Holt, and our wonderful parent volunteers Jess, Karen and Paul for their time, enthusiasm and assistance in making the camp such a successful and memorable experience. Your support helped ensure that our students could enjoy such a wonderful opportunity.
Year 4, you should be very proud of yourselves! You approached camp with enthusiasm, courage and kindness, and returned with wonderful memories, new experiences and a stronger belief in what you can achieve. What a fantastic adventure!
