From the Art Studio…
Our young artists have begun the term exploring the possibilities of paper collage and paper sculpture, experimenting with colour, texture, shape and form to transform simple materials into imaginative artworks. We’ve also enjoyed the playful process of creating mini self-portraits, celebrating the unique qualities that make each of us who we are.
Collaboration is a key focus this term as students work together to create artworks that will brighten our school hallways. Along the way, they are putting the PYP Learner Profile into action, developing their skills as Communicators, Thinkers and Open-minded learners, while embracing new challenges as Risk-takers and learning to value the ideas and contributions of others.
We have also begun brainstorming ideas for our class artworks for the annual Art Auction at Carols on the Green in December! Students are excited to explore the possibilities and begin imagining the artworks they will create for this special event, which brings our school community together to celebrate Christmas and the end of another meaningful year.
We look forward to sharing more of our artistic adventures as our hallways fill with colour and creativity, and our young artists continue to learn, experiment and inspire one another!
