Assistant Principal's Message 

Term 3 

We are already near the end of week 2 and it has been fantastic to see how all the students have transitioned back to school for what is sure to be a busy term of learning. There are many excursions and special events planned for this term which will add further context and enjoyment to the topics being studied.

We began the term by celebrating 100 days of school for our Foundation students. It was exciting to see so many family members able to come to the morning presentation, sharing the growth and achievements of the students during their first semester of schooling. The slideshow provided a visual, showing how the students have not only grown physically, but of some of their learning so far.

Term 3 is usually a term where we see huge growth in our students right across the school and I look forward to visiting classes regularly throughout the term to support and become involved wherever possible.

We have a House Sports and Athletics event next Friday where students can come dressed in their house colours as well as Book Week coming up in week 7. 

Our extremely proactive Junior School Council are also meeting and busily preparing for our next fundraising event that will occur this term. Further information will be communicated closer to the events.

Road Safety

I would like to again remind all families about the importance of travelling safely to and from school, whether it be by car, bike, scooter or walking. We are hearing of too many situations where cars are double parked when dropping off or picking up students, putting them in unnecessary risky situations. Also, when driving please ensure you look carefully when entering or exiting parking spaces. There are other cars travelling as well as families crossing the road which need to be considered for the safety of our whole community.

Please take the time to reinforce safe behaviours around roads with your child/ren as we regularly do at school, as well as supervising them at all times. Unfortunately drivers and pedestrians can be unpredictable and we need to teach and reinforce the importance of constantly being aware of what is happening around us.
