Principal's Message

Principal's Report – Welcome to Term 3
Welcome back to Term 3! I hope all of our students, families and staff enjoyed a restful break and have returned refreshed for another exciting term of learning.
One highlight of the first two weeks has been seeing students enthusiastically working through their Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) booklets and striving to earn their achievement badges. It has been fantastic to witness the determination, persistence and pride students are showing as they strengthen their multiplication fluency. A big thank you to Mr B for the outstanding support he has provided to both students and teachers in embedding this valuable initiative across the school.
This term also brought the release of our 2026 NAPLAN results, and I am incredibly proud to share that this has been Albion North Primary School's most successful year yet in both student achievement and growth.
Our Year 3 students achieved an outstanding 94% of students in the Strong or Exceeding proficiency levels across Reading, Writing and Numeracy.
Our Year 5 students also achieved exceptional results, with:
- 83% of students in the Strong or Exceeding proficiency levels in Reading
- 83% of students in the Strong or Exceeding proficiency levels in Writing
- 88% of students in the Strong or Exceeding proficiency levels in Numeracy
These outstanding results are a testament to the dedication and perseverance of our students, as well as the exceptional work of our teaching staff from Foundation to Year 6. Every day, our teachers plan, refine and deliver high-quality, evidence-informed instruction that enables every student to reach their full potential. I thank every member of our staff for their unwavering commitment to excellence and to ensuring every child experiences success.
Equally exciting are our student growth results, which demonstrate the significant learning gains our students are making over time. From Year 3 to Year 5:
- 84% of students achieved medium or high relative growth in Writing
- 95% achieved medium or high relative growth in Numeracy
An extraordinary 100% of students achieved medium or high relative growth in Reading
These growth measures are particularly significant as they demonstrate the impact our teaching is having on every learner, regardless of their starting point. They reflect the consistent progress our students are making throughout their primary years and reinforce our belief that every child can achieve excellence through high expectations, explicit teaching and strong partnerships between home and school.
These outstanding outcomes continue to position Albion North Primary School as a high-performing school that is recognised for both academic excellence and exceptional student growth. We are proud to be a school of choice within our community, with a strong reputation for high-quality teaching, ambitious learning and a relentless commitment to helping every student succeed.
Thank you to our families for your ongoing support and partnership. Together, we continue to create an environment where every child can thrive. I look forward to another successful and rewarding term ahead.
