Teaching & Learning Update

Welcome Back to Term 3

Welcome back to Term 3!

I hope all of our families enjoyed a relaxing break and found time to rest, recharge and spend time together. It has been wonderful to welcome our students back to school this week. The excitement, smiles and energy across our classrooms have reminded us what a special place Wollert Primary School is.

This term promises to be another exciting one, with a strong focus on high-quality teaching, meaningful learning experiences and celebrating the wonderful achievements of our students.

Continuing Our Commitment to Excellent Teaching

We are committed to ensuring every child receives the very best learning opportunities every day.

Next week, our teaching staff will come together for our Curriculum Day to continue our professional learning in Structured Literacy. This work is grounded in the Science of Reading a growing body of research that identifies the most effective ways to teach children to read, write and spell.

Throughout the day, our teachers will work collaboratively to refine our literacy programs, ensuring our classroom practice reflects the latest educational research and evidence. By continuously strengthening our teaching, we can provide every student with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to become successful readers and writers.

We are incredibly excited about this work and the positive impact it will continue to have on student learning across our school.

Learning Together with Our Families

One of the greatest strengths of our school is the partnership we share with our families. When schools and families work together, children thrive.

In Week 3, we warmly invite parents and carers to attend our Parent Helper Course. Whether you are hoping to volunteer in classrooms or simply want to learn more about how children learn, this session is for you. Please see Compass for further details.

You will gain practical strategies that can be used both at school and at home to support your child's learning. It is also a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents, make new connections and become an active part of our school community.

We encourage all families to come along. Everyone is welcome.

Celebrating Learning Throughout the Term

Term 3 is always filled with exciting opportunities that inspire curiosity, creativity and a love of learning.

One of the highlights will be our Book Week celebrations, where students will enjoy a range of engaging literacy activities culminating in our much-loved Book Week Parade. These celebrations encourage imagination, develop a love of reading and remind us that books have the power to open doors to endless possibilities.

We are also looking forward to celebrating our Prep students as they reach an incredible milestone 100 Days of School in Week 3. It is hard to believe how much they have grown since the beginning of the year. We are proud of the confidence, resilience and independence they have developed, and we look forward to celebrating this special achievement with our Prep families.

As the term progresses, students will continue to participate in engaging learning experiences, excursions, incursions and whole-school events that enrich classroom learning and strengthen our sense of community.

Thank You

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we are creating a school where every child is known, challenged and supported to achieve their personal best.

We are looking forward to another term of learning, growth and celebration, and we can't wait to share it with you.

Here's to a fantastic Term 3!
