Aboda 2025

On Wednesday, August 13, the Magill School Competition Band participated in the Junior Section of the ABODA Band Festival at Westminster School under the direction of Instrumental Music’s Nick Vladcoff. The band performed three pieces for adjudication, including an arrangement of Gustav Holst’s Swansea Town and Michael Oare’s Chaos Mountain. 

Each year, adjudicators choose a set piece for each division, and I am very proud of the effort our Magill students put into presenting Emma Olsen’s exciting and dramatic Way of the Samurai. Congratulations to everyone for achieving the Silver award this year. The student’s effort, hard work, and dedication to the ensemble are remarkable, and the way they represented Magill School in the broader community was outstanding. Many thanks to our front office team, leaders, and staff for their support, encouragement, and commitment. The ensemble looks forward to performing again at the Performing Arts Assembly in week 10 and the Instrumental Music Concert in term 4.
