Grease is the word. If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, it's not too late. The staff had the privilege of watching the opening show of our annual school production, “Grease”. The lead actors, Poppy Thomas and Noah Fleming, were terrific. The energy of Scarlett Benham, Grace Gibson, Bella Henderson, Shakira Siggins, Bailey Bowd, Ryan Smith, James Xi and Zion Rodriguez livened up the crowd, and the flexibility once again of Jessica Burge to adapt and play multiple characters showed great talent. Special mention to Ella Davis, Elliot Watson, Dash Whiting and Larni O’Brien in breakout performances and the joy that they brought to the show. I am amazed at the way the students performed their lines, songs and dance moves. Well done to everyone.
All cast and crew have been dedicated to the school production since casting in November 2024. An absolute credit to Talia Henderson and the staff for including all students that wanted to participate, for finding ways to make each scene and each song great and for having the energy and passion to bring the production to life.
Earlier this week we also held our annual Athletics Carnival. We were graced with beautiful weather conditions, even after a very cold morning. The students attending and completing did so in a wonderful spirit, with many younger students volunteering to fill places in older age groups. The Athletics Carnival was a fun day and one where we celebrate the achievements of those that have been blessed with speed, endurance and strength. Congratulations to Woods House for winning the trophy on the day as well as the House Spirit Award and to the Age Champions and Record Breakers.
Thank you to the parents who were selected and completed the Insight SRC survey. This survey is completed by all staff, students and randomly selected parents. The results of the survey provide the school with valuable information which we use to assist in planning areas of improvement for our school. As we move into a year of review in 2026, this year’s survey data will be an important part of the puzzle when we plan our strategic direction for the next 5 years.
