District Swimming News

On Thursday 6th March 24 BPS students travelled to MSAC to compete for the school in the Seaside District carnival. There were some great swims and hotly contested events. All swimmers participated with great enthusiasm and showed excellent sportsmanship towards each other and the competing schools.

Overall BPS finished in 7th place which is 1 place better than 2024, so well done to all swimmers and thank you to Mr Bennett and Miss Kissane who accompanied the students to and from the event.

Division Swimming News

If you come first in any event at the district level you go through to the division swimming event which was held on Wednesday 12th March at Oakleigh Rec. Ollie M was Brighton Primary School’s only entrant into this next level of competition.

He competed in the 50m freestyle where he was pipped to the wall into 2nd place, a great swim and wonderful sportsmanship after, shaking all the other competitor’s hands.

He also competed in the 50m butterfly, this event was the final event for the individual swimmers. It was again a very close race with Ollie coming out as the winner.

He will go on to represent the Kingston Division at the Regional event in April.

Congratulations Ollie and good luck we are all very proud of you!
