Catholic Identity

Being a part of the Parish

St Mary’s Term 4 Catholic Social teachings calendar is always busy with pivotal celebrations in our Church calendar, liturgies and masses at school and a prominent season for social justice and giving to those in need. This term many of our classes will join Father Novie and the St Mary’s parishioners by celebrating mass down at the St Mary’s Parish Church. These dates will be made available to the community via your classroom teachers and year-level leaders. Please feel welcome to join your children at these celebrations.

Socktober

October is Mission month and this year St Mary’s will take part in being global change makers. Across the school all year levels are exploring the social justice concept of mission while having the contextual understanding of how we can support global needs through the Socktober initiative.

On Thursday, October 31st, St Mary’s will be led by the Year 5 and 6 learners to take part in Socktober activities that build awareness of global social issues while fundraising through gold coin donations for children in need. Further details will be shared via Compass and our next newsletter.

St Mary’s Toy Drive

As we approach the season of Advent and Christmas, our Community Wellness team have eagerly prepared information and possibilities for our annual Toy Drive. We are aware that December can be an expensive and overwhelming time to give so we are setting up the Toy Drive drop box and timeframe early to allow families to contribute earlier if they wish. The joy of our Toy Drive is that it supports our very own local community. Please explore the details below, and give only what you can.
