Big Build Roads are upgrading Clyde Road

Victoria's Big Build are continuing utility relocation works ahead of starting major construction later this year. To do these works safely, they have road, lane and footpath closures in place as required.

Clyde Road overnight closure

From 9pm, Sunday 26 to 6am, Monday 27 May Victoria's Big Build will close Clyde Road overnight between Kangan Drive and Princes Freeway, to install temporary safety barriers.

These barriers will allow their crews to continue underground water and power service relocation works while minimising the need for long-term lane closures along Clyde Road.

Detours will be in place via Princes Freeway and Princes Highway or Princes Freeway. Delays of up to 10 minutes are expected. 

Access for emergency services and to surrounding hospitals, learning institutions and businesses will be maintained at all times.

Princes Freeway ramp closures

From Sunday 26 to Friday 31 May, between 7pm to 5am each night Victoria's Big Build will also temporarily close the Princes Freeway city-bound exit ramp onto Clyde Road.

Detours will be in place via the O’Shea Road city-bound exit ramp with delays of up to 10 minutes expected.

Bus stop closure

The Federation University/Clyde Road bus stop will also be temporarily closed from Sunday 26 May until late August 2024 while Victoria's Big Build install new and relocate existing underground power and water services.

During this time, please use the nearest bus stop located at Berwick Station to travel on bus routes 831, 835, 847, 888, 889 and 899.

Please allow an additional 10 minutes of travel time.

Clyde Road lane closures

There will be daytime and overnight lane closures in both directions on Clyde Road between Enterprise Avenue and Bemersyde Drive, at times until June.

Clyde Road footpath closures 

Victoria's Big Build willclose sections of footpath along Clyde Road during the day with short detours in place, at times until June.
