Year 1 Tiny Towns Exhibition
The Year 1s have worked incredibly hard over the past couple of weeks designing, creating, building and engineering their very own ‘Tiny Town’. Having learned a lot about community this term – including an exciting local community walk and visit to Ivanhoe Library – the students then thought about what a community needs. Each student chose a building they would like to design and create for their Tiny Town. The Year 1 teachers were so impressed with the students’ creativity in this project and the end products were impressive! There was such a buzz in the Year 1 classrooms on Friday morning with the students proudly sharing their work with families, friends and other grades who came to visit. Thanks for coming!

1K read the book Some Brains and then created their own fingerprint characters. Just like our fingerprints are all different, so are our brains and the ways we think. This activity was a wonderful reminder that everyone is unique and special, and that our differences make our classroom such a creative and inspiring place to learn.

At the March Meeting of Junior School Council the students discussed and considered many items that were tabled by the representatives from Years 1 to Year 6. Here is their report to School Council delivered by video.
