Hello and welcome back! I hope you have all had a splendid time on your school holidays. 

It is now Term 4 of 2026 and we have quite a few upcoming events which we are excited about. But first we have to go through hat rules for this term. 

Because it is sunburn season, we now have to  wear hats outside during recess. If you forget to take it out, you will be sent to the deck to play where it’s sun safe. Don’t forget it when you head outside because we cannot go back into the building to get it once recess has started 

Now to the learning part: 

In English, our new mentor text is Uncle Xbox. We are slowly doing work on it as we go. We read one chapter a day. In Word Origins we have recently been learning about our Latin origin words but now we have moved on to Greek origin. On Friday we have a Color Fun Run with the high school. Please bring non-perishable foods for donating and wear white clothing!

We are really looking forward to going to Cave Hill Creek for camp in Week 5 with the grade threes from Mrs Lofts’ class. We are going to do possum gliding and we are going to have a BBQ and lots more other fun things! It’s going to be a great time. 

In Maths, we are studying Data and Statistics. We are doing this by creating Excel spreadsheets, frequency charts and pictographs. We are going around the class asking everyone to vote on different things like “what is your favourite pet?” and other topics too. Then we are using the data we collect to make our spreadsheets and turn them into cool looking bar graphs.
