Welcome to Term 4!

We have a very busy term ahead of us with some exciting events. Please check over the important dates below. I am sure this term will fly by!

We will see our Grade 3 students head off on their very first school camp at Cave Hill Creek. They will have a jam packed 3 days with activities such as canoeing, vertical challenge, hut building and ropes course to name a few. Forms to be completed are on XUNO.

We then have our Grade 2 students have their sleep-in. This will be another fun experience so that our 2s can prepare for their first camp next year. Whilst this is lots of fun, it can be a daunting experience for some students. I encourage you to start having the conversation now with your child to help ease any worries they may be feeling in the lead up to this.

We begin our swimming program too, which will be held on Fridays for five weeks. Please check the dates below to ensure that bathers, towels and goggles are packed on the correct days.

Literacy

This term in Literacy, we have started a new mentor text, Big Red Kangaroo. Students have enjoyed the two layers to this text - the information report, and the story that follows 'Big Red' and his mob. We have explored the difference between story telling or opinions and factual information. Students have just started to research some other Australian animals, in which they will write their own report on.

Numeracy

This term, we will look into Space, Geometry, Statistics and Probability. We've already explored the properties of 2-dimensional shapes, and students have done a great job in categorising shapes based on these properties. Next, we will begin to explore some 3-dimensional shapes and their properties.
