Property News:

Recently, Bronwyn Smith from Community Waitakere came in to talk to the Bush School and a few others about composting. She explained the benefits to our environment when we compost and showed us how easy it is. We observed a sample of organic matter from the compost here at school and noticed how alive it was, an entire ecosystem amongst our daily waste.
We carefully scooped out a few interesting invertebrates and took a closer look with magnifying glasses and a microscope. We found spiders, slaters, slugs, worms, millipedes, lavae, all working hard to munch through our lunchbox waste and turn it into beautiful, nutritious soil for our school garden.
