Term 3 2025
Koorie News đ¤đâ¤ď¸
This has been a very active term, full of significant dates on the First Nations calendar.Â
Â
We celebrated Reconciliation Week with daily posts on the âlocal heroesâ who have had a big impact on our Koorie students.
Â
To celebrate NAIDOC Week, our school hosted two events- one a sausage sizzle to raise money for Nairm Marr Djambana- Frankston Gathering Place, which was attended by elder Aunty Deb. Also, we had a beautiful Acknowledgement of Country, smoking ceremony and yidaki playing by Lionel Lauch from Living Culture.
Â
It was deadly to see our ex Koorie Captains Hudson Fraser and Shayli Crow attend this event. Thank you both for your continued support!
Â
Additionally, ALL Koorie students were invited to this term's KELiS (Koorie Emerging Leaders in Schools at Rosebud Secondary College, so lots of empowering events for our First Nations students to connect with each other and the local community.
Â
Another reminder for Koorie families: our neighbouring Primary- Red Hill Consolidated School is hosting a Koorie Family Event on the 9th of September from 5-6 pm at the school hall. Come along for a feed and a yarn and connect with other Koorie families.
