Day of Excellence Assembly

We will gather for a special kind of celebration of the excellent achievements of the Year 12 class of 2025 on Monday February 23. We will celebrate the achievements and look forward to the future and wish the graduating class well for their on-going journey.

We urge the graduating class to be proud Mazenodians as they go out to make their contribution to society, as thousands of Old Collegians have done in so many ways in all walks of life. As they move off to continue their life journey, may they continue to grow in all dimensions – mind, heart and soul. We take inspiration from Luke’s Gospel Chapter 12: “To whom much has been given, much will be required.” Because, all education, especially a Mazenod education, is not just for you, it is also something for the world – to be used for and shared with others. On behalf of the whole College community, we say – congratulations, go well and all the best.

I am delighted to share with you that Sam Boyle has been selected to perform in Top Class Drama as part of the VCE Season of Excellence 2026. Sam will be performing his 2025 Drama solo Professor Filius Flitwick or Professor Pomona Sprout on Tuesday 24 March, 10:00am at Melbourne Recital Centre. In addition, Sam has been invited by VCAA to perform in the regional Top Class tour 23 April at Gippsland Performing Arts centre in Traralgon.

Congratulations to Felicity Kamevaar and all the Performing Arts Team on supporting Sam in this outstanding achievement.

2026 DMFEN Student Leaders Conference

The 2026 De Mazenod Family Education Network Conference was hosted by Iona College Qld. The elected student leaders at our member Colleges, St Eugene’s College Qld, Mazenod College WA, Iona College Qld and Mazenod College VIC were accompanied by Rectors, Principals and leading teachers to this annual event.

Students explored the common values that are shared because of the ministry of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate. These values are aptly illustrated in our Signpost documentation highlighting the mission and commitment of St Eugene and the Oblates to: Community, Service, Spirituality, Dignity, and Learning. Thank you to all the staff who attended and supported the workshops and presentations. Most of all thank you to the students who immersed themselves in the experience and took every opportunity to learn, plan and connect.

Inaugural Mass

A reminder that the opening College Inaugural Mass will be held on Friday 27th February at St Patrick’s Cathedral. Our tradition of inducting the College Student Leaders on this auspicious occasion continues and we encourage all in our community to be in attendance. Please access further information on MAZCOM regarding travel arrangements.

All the best,
