Therapy Team

Hey! If you don't know me, I'm Troy and I'm the Registered Music Therapist at Belmore School. Otherwise known as the guy with the guitar, the guy with the silly hair and the one usually in black! Recently I've been spending my time between going to gigs, getting to the footy, getting through best man preparation and trying to stop my partner of 6 years from catching the bouquet at every wedding we go to! 😱😱😱 

This year has started off with a bang...and a crash in the music department at Belmore! We finally got a space for music back at Belmore towards the end of last year and it has been loved by all of our students. Last year, many of the students at Belmore had access to a lot of music excursions and we haven't stopped yet! We're frequent attendees at the Melbourne Recital Centre for their relaxed performances and at the Arts Centre for their mix of shows. 

This year, I've continued with my videography work from the end of last year with our students. During the recent SRC elections, I had the pleasure of producing a few fictional advertisements for some of our PLC1 and PLC3 students to use between the campaign videos of our senior students. Watch this space for a possible Belmore Movie Premiere! 

Back in music, we have been spending a bit of time improvising. We have been using our voices, playing the blues and having a jam over the top, or just making some crazy sounds together. Throughout these activities we aim to provide a fun space where our students can play together as a group and respond to each other. 

I love hearing about the musical activities or things in general that our wonderful students get up to in their life away from Belmore.
