Brigidine College Christmas Appeal

Our Christmas Appeal this year is in support of Canice's Kitchen. It has been a joy to help support them through the Christmas season for the past 3 years.

For those who have not heard of Canice's Kitchen, it is a daily service providing support to men and women experiencing homelessness and social exclusion. No longer just a soup kitchen, Canice's is a place of connection for those who have no permanent address. It is funded by donations and served daily by volunteers.

Our own Sr Sheelah was heavily involved until recently when her mobility no longer permitted it. She is thrilled we are continuing this partnership with a place so dear to her heart. This year, Canice's have asked for the following items to distribute to their clients at their annual Christmas Luncheon. These have been divided across the year groups:

  • Year 7: Chocolate and Lollies (individually wrapped)
  • Year 8: Sweet and Savoury Snacks (expiry date post-Jan 2024)
  • Year 9: Deodorant, Lip Balm & Socks (for males and females - new items only)
  • Year 10: 1L Clip Lock Plastic Containers (new items only)
  • Year 11: Journals & Pens

Our Profile Captains will launch this officially with the community in the coming days.

Thank you in advance for your support of those in need this Christmas.

2024 Immersion Program

We were overwhelmed by the number of applications submitted for our 2024 Immersion Program. The sheer number of candidates speaks to the enthusiasm within our community to engage in service opportunities, demonstrating our Catholic values.

Over the coming week, we will interview students to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each candidate's unique qualities and desire for involvement in this Program. Interviews provide an opportunity for candidates to speak to their application, and for the panel to gauge an understanding of their suitability within the Program.

I thank all students for the time they have invested in this process, and I look forward to building with you a flourishing and sustainable Immersion Program.
