Dear Brigidine Community,
As we approach the culmination of Term 4, I hope this newsletter finds each of you in good health and high spirits.
I am reminded at this particular time of year about the many aspects of life that we should give pause to and give thanks. A fitting biblical verse about gratitude comes to mind from 1 Thessalonians 5:18: "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." This verse emphasises the importance of gratitude, encouraging us to maintain a thankful heart regardless of our circumstances. It suggests that expressing gratitude is not just a response to favourable situations but a continuous practice in life.
It's my pleasure to reconnect and share the latest happenings and noteworthy achievements within our esteemed school community.
A Recap of College Activities:
Student Leadership Initiatives:
Our Student Leadership Team has been diligently crafting plans to further enhance our community. Their recent engagements with neighbouring school leaders and discussions with Dr. Margorie O’Neil, Member for Coogee, were both insightful and inspiring.
A Glimpse into Building Developments:
Progress on our building developments continues steadily. We anticipate sharing more comprehensive details about our College's development, including the forthcoming establishment of the Canteen, as the project unfolds.
Raising Social Awareness:
Addressing vital social issues, recent discussions have centred around concerns about vaping. For your reference, we've provided a link to an enlightening video interview from the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, shedding light on this topic.
Furthermore, a concerning report has surfaced regarding a new trend associated with AI impacting young individuals. Staying informed and vigilant about such trends remains crucial for the well-being of our community.
Closing Thoughts:
As we near the end of this term, I sincerely hope it has been brimming with enriching experiences and positive growth for all students at Brigidine College. Your continued support and partnership in their educational journey are immensely valued. Should you wish to share any thoughts or have queries, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Warmest regards and heartfelt thanks,
Mrs Sharyn Quirk
