Wear Blue Day – Thursday 25 June

To help raise awareness of the Terry Floyd Foundation, Bridgewater Primary School will be participating in Wear Blue Day on Thursday 25 June.

Students are invited to wear blue clothing or dress up as their favourite superhero for the day. This special event aims to celebrate and promote the wonderful work of the Terry Floyd Foundation.

The Terry Floyd Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives and futures of children in rural communities. Our school has benefited greatly from the Foundation's generosity, with donations helping to provide fresh fruit for students and additional sporting equipment for our school.

As a way of showing our appreciation and helping to raise awareness, we are joining schools across Victoria in supporting Wear Blue Day. The colour blue is the Foundation's theme colour, while superhero costumes symbolise being everyday heroes who support and care for children.

Staff have planned a range of fun activities for students to enjoy throughout the day, all linked to the Wear Blue Day theme.

We ask that students:

  • Wear blue clothing or dress as their favourite superhero.
  • Bring a gold coin donation, with all proceeds supporting the Terry Floyd Foundation and its work with children in rural communities.

Thank you for your support in helping us celebrate this fantastic organisation and the positive difference it makes in the lives of children.

Helping Keep Our School Community Healthy

As we move through the colder months, we ask families to help us minimise the spread of cold, flu and other respiratory illnesses within our school community.

Please keep your child at home if they are unwell. Children who are experiencing symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, significant coughing, or are otherwise not well enough to participate in learning should remain at home until they have recovered.

To support a healthy school environment, we encourage all students to:

  • Wash their hands regularly with soap and water.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with their elbow or a tissue.
  • Dispose of tissues immediately after use.
  • Avoid sharing drink bottles, food or personal items.
  •

If a student becomes unwell during the school day, parents/carers will be contacted and asked to collect their child as soon as possible.

Thank you for your support in helping keep our students, staff and families healthy.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Bookings for our Parent-Teacher Conferences opened on uEducateUs on Tuesday 9 June and will remain available until Friday 19 June.

These conferences provide a valuable opportunity to discuss your child's progress, celebrate their achievements, and work together to support their future learning. We encourage all families to book a time to meet with their child's teacher.

Students are encouraged to attend and actively participate in the conference. Being involved in these discussions helps students develop ownership of their learning and provides an opportunity for them to share their successes and future goals.

If you have not booked a conference by Friday 19 June, a meeting time will be allocated and sent home with your child at the end of the day.

If there are specific questions, concerns or topics you would like to discuss, please notify your child's classroom teacher via Class Dojo prior to the conference. This will allow teachers to gather any relevant information and be well prepared to address your questions.

We look forward to meeting with you and celebrating your child's learning and growth.
