Division Cross Country
It was definitely a cross country day last Monday, the wind and rain really made it a great day! However, I was super proud of all 24 students that participated in the day and gave it 100%.
Thank you again to all of the parents that came along and supported the students on the day.
Cross Country Report By Georgia and Patrick
Recently, students from our school competed in the Cross Country event against students from many different schools. It was a great opportunity to meet new people, make new friends, and show kindness and encouragement to others throughout the day.
The weather certainly made things challenging, with plenty of rain and very slippery conditions underfoot. While the runners gave it their all, our parents were probably less excited about the muddy washing waiting for them afterwards!
Although no students progressed through to the Regional Championships, every competitor showed great determination, heart, and sportsmanship, giving 100% effort from start to finish. A special mention goes to Darcy, who ran an outstanding race and finished only a couple of positions away from qualifying for Regionals.
We are proud of all our runners for representing our school so well and demonstrating resilience, kindness, and perseverance in difficult conditions.
Year 5&6 Gala Day
On Thursday our Year 5 & 6 students have their turn to represent SJV at our Interschool Sports Day. These students will be participating in AFL 9s, Soccer, Tball and Netball. Most students will be playing for fun and enjoying the day! Some students will be participating in teams that will progress to finals that progress to Division in term 3.
All fixtures have been updated on nforma if you wish to watch your child on the day. Your child can tell you the name of their team to work out times etc.
Thank you to those parents that have volunteered for the day - Mick, Lydia, Sheena, Monika and Catherine. The weather is looking good, fingers crossed.
Have a wonderful week ahead.
Stay safe, keep active
