Where has the term gone?  

Only two weeks to go, and things are really ramping up with Year 12s preparing for life after school, the flurry of preparations for the Royal Show, completion of assessments and projects, along with all the regular day-to-day workings of a farm and trade training centre. 

Yesterday, I attended the Agricultural Directorate Schools with Farms meeting, joining principals from across the state. We had productive discussions on a range of important topics, including Teach for Impact, Farm Skills programs, Work Health and Safety protocols, Open Days and events, and the future direction of agricultural education across WA. One of the most pleasing aspects of the day was the overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding the knowledge, skills and contributions of agricultural college students. It was a timely reminder of the outstanding young people we have across all five colleges.

We are strongly focused on increasing consistency and collaboration across the WACoA. While each college has developed its own strengths and ways of operating, we continue to work towards greater alignment in our practices, residential programs, and policy implementation. Stronger partnerships between colleges will help ensure the best outcomes for students and staff across the WACoA network.

Heading to the End of the Year

For our Year 12 students, things are becoming very real as the finish line comes into sight. 

Next week, students will receive their school clearance documentation, which requires sign-off from each section of the College to confirm that all coursework, assessments and other requirements have been completed. 

Students who have outstanding requirements will need to return during the first two weeks of next term to complete these obligations. They will also receive information about reference requests, and our Year 10 students will begin the course selection process for next year. Keep an eye on HAC Chat for further information. 

I would like to sincerely thank our Student Services team for the care, compassion and support they provide throughout the year. In particular, a special thank you to our Chaplain, Emma, for the energy and enthusiasm she brings to organising activities and initiatives for students, including today's R U OK? Day. Students and staff alike greatly value her ability to create opportunities for connection, conversation, and fun.
