Level 4

Today some of our Year 4 cohort were fortunate enough to be invited to visit Dr Stanley Cochrane Memorial Kindergarten. The students were extremely excited to get to know the 3-Year-Old Lorikeet class. When we arrived, it was crystal clear the feelings were mutual.
Year 4 students were given the opportunity to explore, play and connect with the 3-Year-Old students in a range of different activities. Quickly, students dispersed outside onto the play equipment, sand & mud pit, basketball court and swing set. What really stood out was the Year 4 students calm, patient and warm demeanours that made the kindergartners feel safe and included in the play.
It wasn’t long before shops were created, balls were being launched, buckets of sand were being excavated, and the Year 4 students were fully emersed in the imaginative play.
Inside, students were welcome to engage in more imaginative play, like creating shops, building blocks, art and crafts. Students were happily painting, colouring or building alongside the Kindergarteners who were loving their company.
The Year 4’s who attended today had an absolute blast and I hope they can share some of their favourite memories with their families.
Just a reminder, the remaining students who didn’t get to go today, will have the opportunity to have a similar experience on Friday. We look forward to making stronger connections and more memories then!
Kind Regards,
Nathan PercyYear 4 Team Leader
