Sports Report 

We have had a busy couple of weeks of sport at MPS! Here is a quick snapshot of what has been happening. 

District Athletics 

We had 63 students from Mitcham attend the Nunawading District Athletics Carnival on Monday 24th August. The students competed really well, with a lot of students placing in the top 4 for their event. 14 students from Mitcham were successful at finishing 1st or 2nd in their event and will be progressing to Division Athletics next term. We wish them all the best in the next level of competition. 

5/6 Interschool Sport

Over the past 2 Fridays our grade 5/6 students competed in their 2nd interschool sport competition for the year. The sports were Basketball, Cricket, Downball, Tennis and Volleyball. We are really proud of the sportsmanship and teamwork that was displayed by all students over the 2 weeks. The students played fantastically and showed great improvement in their skill level and understanding of the games. Thank you to our teachers for coaching the teams and creating great experiences for our students. 

Prep - 4 Swimming 

Over the past 2 weeks we have had the Prep - 4 swimming program. The students had an absolute ball and loved getting in the pool each day. They showed great skill development as well as fantastic independence in getting themselves organised each day at the pool. Thank you to all our parent helpers who assisted at the pool. We are so grateful for the help!
