Update on Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) at Newport Lakes Primary School

Dear Families,

As part of our commitment to ensuring the highest quality programs and services for our students and families, Newport Lakes Primary School Council recently undertook a rigorous tender process to review the provision of Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) from 2026 onwards.

A number of experienced providers were invited to participate in this process. After a careful evaluation of all submissions against clear selection criteria - including quality of care, affordability, alignment with school values, and service capability - the School Council has endorsed a new provider to deliver OSHC services from the beginning of 2026.

We would like to sincerely thank Quantin Binnah Community Centre for their long-standing commitment and contribution to our school community. Their commitment to the wellbeing and development of our students has been deeply valued and appreciated.

The transition to the new provider is expected to reduce the cost of care for families while also enabling greater opportunities for the school to reinvest in the quality of programs and learning experiences available to students.

We are currently in the final stages of confirming contractual arrangements with the new provider and will share further details, including information about the transition and enrolment process, once these are finalised in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, Quantin Binnah will continue to provide OSHC services as usual for the remainder of Term 4, ensuring stability and continuity for students and families.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we plan for a smooth and positive transition that continues to place our students and community at the heart of every decision we make.

Warm regards,

Carly Bannon
