2025 Room Transitions and Orientations
As the end of the year quickly approaches, all rooms will be holding orientation sessions for children to officially begin in their new room & booked days for 2025 on the 6th January.
The way Haven runs orientations for all age groups is very flexible, progressive and supports children to develop a sense of security and comfort in their new rooms alongside their peers.
Some orientation sessions will include:
-Open gate play into each age groups yard and room
-Joining group times or meal times
-Spending the morning/afternoon in a different room
-Engaging in group experiences with the older rooms
If you have any questions or concerns around this please speak to the room leaders or myself.
Please email as soon as possible any holidays families may be taking over Christmas and into 2025.
Emergency Evacuations/ Lockdowns
Did you know that apart of our regulations and quality standards that early childhood services are required to conduct practice emergency evacuations and lockdowns every 3 months? On the Wed 23rd the whistle blew with all rooms then following evacuation plans to meet at Arcadia Reserve. For this drill it took all rooms 6 minutes and 22seconds to completely vacate the centre with all children and staff calm, happy and engaged in the drill.
Carpark
A friendly reminder to all families, visitors and staff to please slow down in our carpark. At times the area gets very busy and crowded and can make it difficult to enter and exit Haven.
Children must be holding the hand of an adult when in the carpark and should never be running/playing in the car spots.
