BJR exchange to Germany for 10 weeks in 2027 – for Years 9 & 10 students learning German

Expressions of Interest due by the end of Week 1 Term 2

Three of our current Year 10 German students will travel to Germany at the end of 2026 on the reciprocal Bavarian Youth Ring Exchange Program. We are currently hosting their German host siblings, who are due to return to Germany on April 24th.

Expressions of interest are now being called for the next round of exchange for 2027. These close at the end of Week 1 Term 2.

SAGSE scholarship opportunity for students learning German in Years 10, 11, 12 

Host families desperately needed for a German scholarship student this year!

If your family is prepared to host a German student for 10 weeks this year, you will have a strong chance of receiving one of the prestigious SAGSE scholarships on offer when you are in Years 11 and 12.

Klasse 8 Modeschau (Year 8 Fashion Parade)

Year 8 German classes have been learning how to use German to describe what someone is wearing. To celebrate their learning this term, some classes held a fashion parade where each student had a turn strutting down the catwalk, with one of their peers describing their outfit. Students in 8G even made sure that Frau Branell had her turn on the catwalk as well! 

Celebrating Easter in German classes

Some classes have been learning about Easter customs in German-speaking countries. One such custom is to decorate a tree with blown out and dyed eggs. The two German rooms have great displays.
