Education Week

There were many highlights throughout Education Week last week. It was great to see students engaging in the STEM hands-on activities; I personally observed many captivated students, particularly with the catapult, rain cloud, floating buildings, maths, and the water slide lessons. It was an absolute pleasure seeing students having much fun with this learning.

Our Open Morning on Friday was a perfect way to finish off the week. Parents/carers enjoyed spending time in their child's classroom and participating in an activity together. This was followed by a morning tea with Judith and myself which was a lovely opportunity to catch up and discuss a range of home/school topics.

Student Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS)

The AtoSS is a voluntary annual student survey offered by the Department of Education to assist schools and the department to gain an understanding of students' perceptions and experience of school.

We value student voice as a means to improving student engagement, wellbeing and quality learning and will be asking your child about their thoughts and feelings in relation to their school, their learning, health and wellbeing.

This will be our second year participating in the survey. The data helps us to further understand student views to plan programs and activities to improve your child's schooling experience. The survey responses also help the Department of Education understand how student’s learning experiences can be improved.

This year, many of our students (10-18 years) will be invited to participate in the the survey over the next 3 weeks.

Letters are currently being sent home to parents/carers to provide further information and an opportunity to opt your child out of the survey.

Mother's Day Stall

We hope mum's enjoyed their Mother's Day gift earlier this month. A big thank you to Leanne and the team of parent helpers who organised and ran the Mother's Day Stall this year.

Fundraising - New Swing

Over the past couple of years, the Mother's and Father's Day stalls, Easter and Christmas raffles have been raising funds towards upgrading our playground equipment. We have now nearly raised enough funds to purchase a new twin set of swings for our secondary play space. Funds for events this year will continue to contribute to the purchase of the swings.

The new swings will be installed during the next school holidays.

School Policies

At the school council meeting last week, the Volunteers, Visitors and Photographing, Filming and Recording Students policies were reviewed and endorsed.
