Foundation to Year 3 Swimming Starts Monday!

A reminder to families that our Foundation to Year 3 Swimming Program begins on Monday 15 June and runs daily throughout Week 9 at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC).

Swimming is an important part of the SKiPPS Physical Education program and a key component of the Victorian Curriculum, helping students build both confidence in the water and essential water safety skills. Students should come to school as normal each day and will travel to and from MSAC by coach.

Please ensure that all medical and swimming competency forms have been returned to your child's classroom teacher and that payment has been completed via Compass.

We also greatly appreciate the support of our parent volunteers, particularly in our junior year levels. Families who have registered to assist are reminded that all volunteers must have completed the SKiPPS Volunteer Induction and hold a current Working With Children Check before attending.

Please refer to the timetable below for your child's lesson, departure and return times. A reminder that Year 4 to Year 6 students will participate in their swimming program during Week 10.

We look forward to two fantastic weeks of learning as our students develop skills that will benefit them for a lifetime.

Our Year 6 students are in full swing preparing for our much-anticipated annual Market Day! Your child will have the chance to visit a variety of fun and creative stalls, with all money raised going directly towards funding the Year 6 Graduation.

We need your help to make this event a success!

Our students have been busy designing exciting new stalls, and we’re calling on our wonderful school community to support us by donating some of the items we’ll need.

A donation box has been placed in the office foyer, waiting for your donations. We are incredibly grateful for any contributions you can make.

Here’s our current wish list:

  • Marie Biscuits
  • Variety of toppings for ice cream and biscuit decorating (e.g. mini marshmallows, choc chips, oreos etc)
  • Premade icing
  • Zooper doopers
  • Blocks of chocolate for the chocolate toss (Vegan options would be greatly appreciated too)
  • Disposable spoons
  • Lucky Dip Prizes
  • Halloween Decorations

In your next shop we would be so appreciative if you were able to pop an extra item or two from the list to help the Year 6s out.

Thank you for supporting our young entrepreneurs!

The Year 6 Team

Support SKiPPS and Receive a Tax Deduction

As we approach the end of the financial year, many families are beginning to organise their tax affairs and book appointments with their accountant. This can be a timely opportunity to consider making a donation to St Kilda Park Primary School's Building Fund or Library Fund.

Donations to both funds are fully tax deductible and provide a valuable way to support our school while also reducing your taxable income. Contributions to these funds help us maintain and improve our facilities, enhance learning spaces, and continue to invest in resources that benefit all students.

Every donation, large or small, makes a meaningful difference and helps us provide the high-quality learning environment that our community values so highly.

If you would like to make a donation, or simply discuss how our Building and Library Funds operate, please contact Nova Whitehead, our Business Manager, at nova.whitehead@education.vic.gov.au or call the school office on 8589 6444. Tax-deductible receipts will be provided for all donations.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our school and our students.

Come along to Cuppa and Connect

Next Tuesday morning we’re inviting parents and carers to have a cup of tea and a chat.

We know that strong connections between a child's home and school environments are the basis for wellbeing and development.

This is a simple way to foster these connections, while ensuring parents and carers have opportunities to develop connections beyond the quick drop-off and pick-up greetings! RSVPs are requested by 9 June, in order to ensure appropriate space and to organise some refreshments.

Please email Louisa on Louisa.DiPietro@education.vic.gov.au to let us know you are coming.

Whether you’re new to the school or you’ve been here a while, you’re welcome to join us directly after the first bell. We look forward to seeing you then!

Trivia Night 2026 - 🎉 Calling All Future Trivia Night Legends! 🎉

Each year, the SKiPPS Parents Trivia Night delivers an unforgettable evening filled with laughter, friendly competition, creative costumes, questionable general knowledge, and a dance floor that somehow always comes alive by the end of the night!

From hilarious dress-up themes to fantastic music and plenty of memorable moments, Trivia Night has become one of our favourite community events  - and now we’re looking for a new team of wonderful parent volunteers to help bring the 2026 event to life!

As our existing fundraising team are still recovering from the exertions of the fete, we are on the lookout for a small group of parents to lead the event planning. This would involve coordinating:

  • an event venue
  • the trivia company
  • some light entertainment and event organisation, possibly the running of a bar!

The good news? You won’t be starting from scratch! There are plenty of experienced parents happy to help, share ideas, and support the new team with everything that has worked well in previous years.

If you’ve been thinking about getting a little more involved in school community life, this could be the perfect opportunity. It’s a fun way to meet other families, contribute to the school community, and help continue one of SKiPPS’ most-loved traditions.
