Leadership Report

As we approach the end of another term, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our dedicated staff, enthusiastic students, and supportive parents and carers for contributing to another wonderful term at Magill School. Your collective efforts, collaboration, and encouragement play a vital role in making our school a vibrant learning community.

This term has been filled with memorable events and activities, including Rec to Year 2 swimming, our Book Fair, fascinating Maritime Museum excursions, inspiring science incursions, and the always-popular school disco. Each event has enriched the learning experiences of our students and strengthened our sense of community.

Looking ahead, next term promises to be just as exciting and action-packed. Our school band will participate in the ABODA Festival competition, our Year 5 students will enjoy camp, and there will be more excursions and incursions to inspire learning. The Festival of Music choir performance and Sports Day are also on the calendar—just to name a few!

We are also delighted to have hosted transition visits for 58 new Reception students who will be joining us in Term 3. We look forward to welcoming them and their families into the Magill School community.

I am very pleased to announce that Kasey Thorne has been appointed as our new Inclusion Leader, commencing next term. Kasey is already well known to many of our families, having previously worked at Magill School. During her time away, Kasey has furthered her expertise in inclusion, supporting families and schools as a special educator with the Education Department. We are fortunate to welcome her back to our leadership team.

A reminder to families that Monday, 20th July, is a pupil-free day. Students will return for Term 3 on Tuesday, 21st July, enjoying an extra day’s break to be refreshed for the new term.

Once again, thank you all for your ongoing support and contribution to our school. Have a wonderful winter break and I look forward to seeing everyone back next term.

Warm regards,

John Iannunzio

Principal
