Principal's Report

Dear Families,
REPORT WRITING
Student reports were uploaded to XUNO yesterday. As mentioned last week you may be aware, the teachers' union is currently taking protected industrial action. One of the directives of this action involves union members not completing written comments on student report cards. Because of this, you will notice that some of this semester’s reports contains your child's academic grades but does not include formal teacher comments.
Please be assured that this omission does not reflect any lack of care for your child’s progress. Your child's assessments and grading have been fully completed based on our curriculum requirements. We understand that report comments are valuable to families, and we remain entirely committed to your child’s education.
As always if you would like to discuss your child’s academic progress, areas for improvement, or overall development please contact the school.
PLC FOCUS
Across the school our Professional Learning Community (PLC) focus for the past three weeks has been handwriting and presentation of work. Students have responded extremely well, and we have seen an amazing improvement in the quality of the work.
AFTERSCHOOL SUPERVISION
Students are supervised in the playground from 8.45am till 9am in the morning and 3.15-3.30pm in the afternoon. Beyond this time, it is the parent’s responsibility to supervise their children. Concerns have been raised about students climbing in unsafe areas and throwing sand up on top of the shade structures.
DENTAL VAN
In week 2 of Term 3, we will have a visit from Australian Smile Group. It is a travelling dental van that visits schools to provide comprehensive exam, cleaning and any required treatment through the Child Dental Benefit Scheme or bulk billing. There is NO cost for this service. Forms were sent home during the week, please return them by the end of term to ensure your child can be seen on the day.
END OF TERM ASSEMBLY
Our final assembly for Term 2 will take place on Friday 26th of June commencing at 1.30pm. Students will be dismissed at 2.15pm. School will resume on Monday 13th July.
Wishing you all a lovely holiday and looking forward to seeing everyone back and rested ready for Term 3.
Regards,
Filippa & Heather
