District Swimming
On Friday, 20th of February, a group of 17 students from years 3-6 travelled to Victoria University Swim Centre to compete in the annual district swimming competition.
The students participated in 50 metre events of freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly. We also had a team for the medley relay and freestyle relay events. It was a full morning of swimming, and all the students at SMDP competed in their best spirits and gave it their best. Some students who finished 1st or 2nd have now qualified to compete at the Hobsons Bay division level, which was held today, Thursday, March 5th, at Werribee Outdoor pool.
As a school we finished 3rd overall and we had 9 students move on to the Division event. Jill and Ivy swam in the 100m championship race with Jill finishing 3rd and Ivy winning.
Congratulations to our amazing swimmers.
House Cross Country Carnival
Lace Up Your Runners: The Cross Country Carnival is Here! Dust off those running shoes and start stretching—Our first School Cross Country Carnival is just around the corner!
It’s time for our students to hit the track, find their pace, and show off their incredible house spirit. Whether your child is a sprinting superstar or a steady-and-strong jogger, the day is all about participation, perseverance, and plenty of fun.
The year 3 and 4 students will compete in a 2km race and the year 5 and 6 students will compete in a 3km race. With the top 5 students progressing to the district event in term 2. We can't wait to see which house will take home the trophy this year. The Prep, Yr 1 and Yr 2 students will be participating in their own cross country at school. See you at the starting line!
